He’s Not Far Away

Posted on Posted in devotions

In the morning, God plans a beautiful sunrise for you. It’s complete with shades of purple and soft yellow hue. You see it and go about your way, asking yourself, “where is God in my life?” While you’re driving in the car, you barely miss slamming into a huge truck. It was God that protected you, but you don’t notice. You still wonder where is God. He sends soft breezes to kiss your face. He sends the warmth of the sun to remind you of the warmth of His love for you. He sends someone to encourage you, hoping this will convince of his undying affection and presence, but you still don’t get it. God’s not far off. He’s not in the next room. He’s not way out somewhere in the distance. He’s right there with you. Open your eyes and see. He is all around you and it’s time you acknowledged it and embraced Him. He will never leave you.

“Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. We live and move in him, can’t get away from him!’” Acts 17:27-28 (MSG)

Father God,
Thank you for never leaving my side. At times it felt like You were so far away, but I know that was only my feelings speaking loudly to me a lie. Truth is, You are always with me. You are always doing things to show me that You are there for me. I’m so thankful for your dedicated love. Help me to remember this when I’m in a storm. Help me to remember everyday that I live that You are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
