He’s Waiting to Heal Your Heart

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 NIV

The walk of the Christian is full of many roadblocks, detours and delays. But those obstructions don’t always come from the outside world. Very often, they come from the inside. Inside of our own hearts, minds and spirits. How we view the world and how we treat ourselves and others is what’s at the heart of most of our problems. And what Jesus wants, is to get to the heart of the matter. Jesus knows where you are hurting. He knows why you are so fearful and he sees the walls you put up around yourself. But those walls also affect your relationship with him. He wants to break those walls down. All the way down. You know that thing you don’t want to acknowledge because it hurts so badly? He’s waiting for you to bring it to Him. He already knows what it is, you just need to let Him in that space, and let Him have that hurt so He can heal you.

When we trust God with our innermost hurts and fears, we begin to see our lives change. The healing that Jesus provides is incomparable to anything else you will ever experience. Things we never thought we’d do begin to come true. The pain of the past falls away. All of a sudden the world is a safer place because you have someone who you can truly trust with your very heart. There may still be darkness in the outside world, but the darkness on the inside has started to illuminate with His presence through the Holy Spirit. And when His work is complete, there will be no darkness within you anymore.

Prayer: Jesus, I welcome you into my heart. I am hurting and afraid and I ask that you comfort me and help me see the world through your eyes. Forgive me for my offenses and help me to forgive others for their offenses against me. In Jesus name, Amen.
