His Mercy is Bigger

Posted on Posted in devotions

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”- 1 Timothy 1:15-16, NIV

Jesus Christ came into the world, to save sinners! He came to heal the brokenhearted. God loves us enough to save us at our worst. His love is not conditional. It is agape love, (unconditional love). God doesn’t love you any greater for the good works you have done. And He doesn’t love you any less for the sin you have committed. Isn’t that freeing?

Nothing we do can change His love! Therefore, we don’t have to get all cleaned up to go to God. We don’t have to pretend to be perfect people because we wear the title Christian. God wants our whole messy life. He wants our mistakes and our achievements. He wants our brokenness and our hurts. God is waiting for us to come to Him with a transparent heart and be real.

God loves you, regardless of your sin. You can come to our God with any problem, and He will take your problem and give you back mercy. We don’t have a God that shakes His head at us, but instead He stand arms open wide, greeting His daughters with love. He wants you to come to Him right now, with all of your problems because He loves you enough to give you mercy. He loves you enough to say I got this! He wants all of your problems because His Mercy is always bigger.

God’s Mercy says:

“I love you, so I made a way for you to be saved. You have been adopted into my kingdom. I call you my own. I will not punish you for your mistakes. I love you, so I am going to give you another chance. I do not shame and condemn you, but I will help you. Fall at my feet and I will give you the courage to get up. When you feel weak, I make you strong. When you fall, I will lift you higher. Daughter, sin no longer has dominion over your life. I give you my great favor and mercy. Daughter, come to me! I love you always. I want you always. I want all of you, including your problems. Nothing you have done can change my love for you. I will never leave or forsake you.”

Prayer: Father, thank you, Jesus, that you are a God of Mercy. Thank you, Jesus that I can come to you as sinner, and you give me back mercy. Help me to remember that you are a God that gives another chance. You are a God that wants me to run to you with all of my problems because you love me enough to help me right where I am. Thank you that you see me through the blood of Jesus, cleansed white as snow. I claim that through you, I am made pure. Your mercy is enough to conquer my problems! All the glory goes to you! In Jesus Name, Amen.
