His Will, not Mine

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

One morning, I sat staring at my wall of prayer requests–so many! And even as I sat, other requests began coming to mind. I simply did not know how to pray! My spirit began to feel burdened as I allowed the amount and depth of the requests before me to loom in my presence. How I longed to be able to pray for each circumstance, but I didn’t know where to begin! How do I know what is best for these people? Do I pray for miracles? Do I pray for healing? How do I pray? And that is where God spoke to my spirit, “Pray My will”.

I have begun to pray this simple, yet amazingly powerful prayer over the people and circumstances in my life. I cannot even put into words how my stress levels have decreased in my prayer-life, by these 7 words:

“Your kingdom come, your will be done.”

The Lord knows exactly what He is doing in your life, and in the lives of those He has called you to pray for. Seek His will in every situation. Pray that His Spirit would always call you into alignment with His plan for the lives of every person you pray for. He knows best. Always.

Prayer: Yes, Lord! I pray that Your perfect will is done in my life and in the lives of every person You have placed on my heart to pray for. You know best in every situation. Let Your kingdom come and Your perfect will be done in earth, as it is heaven! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
