How to Deal with an Adversary

Posted on Posted in devotions

“For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9

When you walk through the door God has laid open before you and when you take that step of faith, expect many adversaries. The enemy will bring the same people around to tempt you. He will do whatever he can to try to discourage you. He will even bring a new kind of evil that you may have never seen or experienced before. But don’t you be discouraged. God is your shield, He is your defense, and He is bigger than any problem you will ever face. He is your God and anything the devil tries to do in your life will only prove the realness of your God and the strength of His love for you. Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Overcome with faith and love. Keep your cool and stay calm and poised. Don’t let the enemy see you sweat! God has your back and He won’t allow your adversaries to triumph over you. It doesn’t matter what has been said about you. It doesn’t matter what has been done against you. When God establishes you, no one can ruin your name. When He has set you in your heavenly place in Him, no one can pull you down from where He has set you. God’s hand on your life will dispel any accusation. Let the Lord vindicate you and let Him protect you from your adversaries!

Prayer: Thank You Father God! You are my shield! I run to You and I am safe. Ever since I decided to step out on faith God and trust You, it’s like the enemy has been trying to discourage me. But I bind him right now in Jesus name. Lord I submit to You and I yield to Your Holy Spirit alone. I resist the devil and he flees from me just like Your Word says. I take authority right now and I declare peace in my mind, peace in body and peace in my soul. I command my emotions to calm down. I place my trust in You. Help me not fear what man can do to me. I fear and reverence You. I receive your help and I receive Your wisdom and grace to deal with every adversary that comes my way. In Jesus Name, Amen.
