In the Lion’s Den

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

There are times in our life where situations can appear intimidating, even scary on the surface. You may have been warned by peers about an impending outcome, if you attempt to try something new. You may very well be eyeing the bullet of judgment and criticism as you seek to perform the desires that are presently pressing on your heart.  Let the story of Daniel in the lion’s den remind you of the power of God’s anointing in any circumstance. Daniel was warned that he would be thrown to the lions if he openly worshipped God. As a man after God’s heart, he remained faithful and worshipped despite the threats. The man of God was forced to face what many deemed his inevitable fate of being ravished by the lions within the pit he was placed in, yet the flesh-eating predators’ mouths were sealed shut by the hand of God and caused Daniel no harm. Those who sought to inflict fear within Daniel’s spirit became the fearful. They had witnessed the impossible due to the anointing on Daniel and the protection provided for him as he stayed true to what God purposed him to do.  Allow others to witness the power of God over your life as you follow Him. Do not get deterred by the threats or worry about the outcome.  God has perfect leadership for the imperfect follower.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for every vision You have given me and every desire You have placed in my heart. Today, I speak the spirit of boldness over my life as I trust that by Your power, I will accomplish everything you have purposed me to do. I will walk by faith and not by sight. I will not be intimidated or fearful of failure or chastisement.  Thank you for Your perfect love that casts out all fear in my life. In Jesus’ Name I  Pray, Amen.
