Is the Grass Greener?

Posted on Posted in devotions

“He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.”  Proverbs 12:11 (WEB)

There are times when it seems as though what someone else is doing in life looks more attractive then what you are doing in your life.  When I share my profession with others many times I have heard some say why do you do that, that sounds boring, it seems tedious, etc. To me, I love it!  But that is my land to till.  I will admit there have been times over the years, in which I considered leaving this profession, but each time I spent time in prayer and I knew that would be a big mistake.  This is the land God has given me to till and my bread is connected to it.  However, I did not start off in this land.  It took a journey to get here, but I knew with God on my side, I would end up in the land He had for me.  The same is true for you.  If you are in your land, then till it to the glory of God.  If you have not arrived in your land just yet, know that you will get there.  No, the grass is not greener on the other side, but your grass will always be green with God’s blessings!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the land that You have given me.  I thank You for giving me an appreciation for my land and I purpose to till it for You.  I will not compare myself with others and look only to You validation and direction.  I love You and thank You for loving me.  In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
