It’s About Time

Lord, thank you for allowing me to wake up this morning. Now get the kids dressed. Finish checking homework while preparing breakfast. Check the school calendar. Check the work calendar. Get dressed. Drop kids off. Make it to morning meeting. Check email. Address issues at work. Deal with that aggravating co-worker or boss or both. Go into another meeting and come out with more work to do before you get off. Check email. Get on conference call. Meet with team. Lunch at desk. Answer emails. Finish spreadsheet. Deal with that aggravating co-worker. IM Chat. Sneak a call in to your favorite girlfriend to complain about your day and co-worker. Check email. Examine your to do list. Regret not completing it. Rush out to pick up child. Get stuck in traffic. Call Your girlfriend. Run child to practice. Grab dinner. Do homework. Look over agenda for work. Take a shower. Get clothes ready. Watch news. Lay down. Think of everything you need to finish tomorrow at work. Exhale. Thank you Lord for allowing me to make it through another day.

We are too busy! God desires that we spend time to get to know Him each day. We all are given the same 24 hours. How are you using the time that is given? All relationships are developed by the time spent with the other person. It’s about time that we put our priorities in order. Choose to make Him your priority. He is waiting…

My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water” (Jeremiah 2:13 NIV)

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for choosing others before you to include my own selfish priorities. Father, I have been so busy that I have neglected to seek your face and wait for your voice. In my attempt to get through my day I have chosen to forsake you and lean on my own strength. I’m here now Lord…crying out to you because I cannot make it without you…and I don’t want to be where you are not. I’m ready to listen Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
