Jesus is Lord

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:10-11

Whenever my son throws a temper tantrum I have to lovingly remind him, “I’m mommy and you are the baby. You will do what I say.” He then calms down and submits to me because he realizes who is in authority. We live in a world today where parents are so focused on being their children’s friend that the child has lost all respect for the position of authority the parent has in their life.

Jesus is our friend, but more importantly, He is our Lord. He is supreme in authority. He dictates what will be and what will not be. He calls the shots. He is the boss and He is the One that reigns supreme over all. Whether we let Him be Lord in our lives is completely up to us, but it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus is Lord. Demons are subject to His power. It is His anointing that destroys the yoke. It is His name that is above every name. If only we were to let Him be Lord of our lives, He could then display His authority over every area of our lives and Satan wouldn’t gain an advantage over us. We open a door to the enemy when we refuse God’s authority.

Reevaluate where you are in your life and honestly ask yourself, “Am I letting Jesus be Lord of my life? Am I letting Him call the shots in my marriage, in my home, in my ministry, in my business, in my thoughts? Or am I doing whatever I want to do?” A life totally submitted to the Lord is a beautiful, holy and blessed life.

Prayer: Father God, I surrender my life to You. I believe in Your Son Jesus. I believe that He died for my sins, was raised from the dead and is alive today. I ask You to come into my heart Jesus and be my Savior and Lord. Reign in my life. Teach me Your ways. Let Your truth be exalted over any opinion or view I have. Help me live a yielded life and be glorified in and through me. In Jesus name, Amen.
