Just Because

Posted on Posted in devotions
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)
When you feel you deserve God’s goodness the least, that’s when He chooses to pour His grace on you the most. God’s grace is undeserved favor. It is God blessing you not because you are so good, but because He is so good. When you feel you deserve everything God does for you because of your actions, one mistake and failure can cause you to feel condemned and unworthy. This is not a healthy view. God loves you just because. He loves to hear you pray, but that’s not why He loves you. He enjoys seeing you make wise choices in life, but that’s not why He loves you. He loves to see you give to the poor, but that’s not why He loves you. He deeply loves you just because you are His daughter and you belong to Him. He blesses you because you are His. It has nothing to do with you! Your works puts the focus on you, while His grace puts the focus on Him! Receive God’s undeserved love and grace today!
Prayer: Father, I receive Your love and grace today. You love me just because, not because of anything I’ve done. I receive who I am in Christ and everything You provided for me just because You love me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
