Just Do It

“His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it” John 2:5, NKJV.

The popular slogan, “Just Do It”, was coined in 1988 during a Nike advertising agency meeting. It is one of those sayings that impacted millions of athletes and non-athletes alike. As we prepare to enter a new year, I encourage you to “Just Do It”. Whatever God has said to you by His Spirit and through His Word, do it. If He’s placed on your heart to finish school, to get out of debt, to start a fitness plan, to publish a book, or whatever it may be, don’t wait until the new year begins, start now!

New year resolutions are meant to be broken, but a direct command from the LORD? That’s something else entirely. You won’t be able to rest until you do everything God has put in your heart to do.

No more excuses.

It’s nothing you will do in and of yourself. It’s all by God’s grace. Simply seek God on the matter, find out what He wants you to do, and then do it, leaving the outcome in His hands. Let your motivation be knowing you’re in His will doing what He wants you to do.

One reason many women lack motivation is because they don’t know for sure what God wants them to do. Now would be a good time to seek the LORD on His will, His plan and His purpose for your life. Now is a good time to separate yourself from all distractions and the noise, and get before God’s face to discover His will for your life.

Once the LORD reveals to you His purpose and gives you instructions, the next step is to begin making forward steps into doing what He has instructed of you by His grace. Let pleasing Him be your motivation.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for encouraging me today. Help me not to wait until the new year to seek your will and plan for my life. Help me to start now! Help me LORD to stop with all the excuses. Whatever you’ve told me to do, you already know I can’t do it in my own strength. I thank you that you are with me every step of the way. Thank you for your great grace you’ve given me to accomplish what you’ve said. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
