Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is your finish line. He has gone before you and has already won. Now in order for you to make it to the end, you will have to keep your eyes fixed on Him. He is the Author and the Finisher of your faith. You can’t win this race looking back at the past, nor can you win this race worried about who is or isn’t running with you. Keep your eyes on the Lord, and you’ll find that He will give you the strength and confidence you need in order to win. Stop doing the things that you know is slowing you down and hindering your progress. Decide today that I will not be hindered from finishing my race. If you have ever ran in a race, you know it gets tough at the end. No matter how tired you feel in life, giving up is not an option for the believer in Christ. Focus your eyes again, fix your heart again and settle it in your mind that you will finish. Jesus didn’t give up on you, and you won’t give up on Him. Determine within yourself that you will not only finish, but you will finish strong through the grace of God. You will go where God says to go and do what He says to do. You will develop and improve, grow and mature, and be a productive citizen in the Kingdom of God. Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will enter heaven and find that many, many, many people followed you right on in because you kept your eyes on Him.
“Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrew 12:1-2 (Amplified)
You desire that I endure and persevere to the end. You desire that I fight the good fight of faith and finish my course. I desire the same, so I fix my eyes on Jesus and I receive Your strength and grace right now to stay the course and win. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
