“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Romans 12:1 NLT
God lent Jesus a body for 33 years to come to earth and change our lives by being our Salvation. Through Christ we receive the forgiveness of sin and so much more. When we give our lives to Christ and let Him transform us into His likeness, He makes us a holy sacrifice. In response, for all He has done for us, we lend Him our bodies, a living and now a holy sacrifice for a short period of time on earth, for the Holy Spirit to dwell. The Holy Spirit then imparts to us the gifts and talents through our redeemed personality, so we may be a change agent for those we are called to influence. That is the making of a disciple. If God has saved us, then in thankfulness, we give Him our bodies as a living sacrifice to be used for His glory.
Let Jesus love through you, speak through you, teach through you, heal through you, bless through you, administer through you. Whatever He has called you to do, first be and then do. God can use you in a multitude of ways to share who Christ is – be not afraid to let Him use you. Be reminded, it is not just in the big things that God desires for us to do, but sometimes it is the important little things – the note, the hug, the smile, the patience, the thankfulness, etc. Let Him use you anyway He chooses. You may not be called to do it the same way someone else does it, so don’t compare. Our gifts and talents are unique to who we are – lend Him your body! Now it is our turn to be a living sacrifice.

Prayer: Lord God, I give you my life and body every day to make a difference in someone’s life. Thank You for saving me and making me a holy sacrifice for Your good purpose. Lord, I have not arrived and will never arrive until I go home to be with you. But for the time, You have given me on earth, as an offering of thanks to You, I give myself back as a living and holy sacrifice. Let me know how You want to use me to be a part of Your plan to help someone meet You or see You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
