Less Talk, More Doing

“So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17 AMP

What matters most in life is not what we say, but what we do. This is integrity of the heart. This is faith walked out and shown by actions rather than words. When God reveals His will and gives us understanding on a matter, He doesn’t do it so that we can receive a spiritual high and then go back to operating contrary to His will. He shows us the way, so we can walk in it. He shows us what needs changing in our lives and empowers us to change it. God doesn’t waste anything, not even information, revelation and understanding. If He gives it, there is a grace attached to it. How easy we can get caught up in the pride associated with having a wealth of knowledge. This was a common problem among the Pharisees of Jesus’ time and remains a problem today. We must make it our goal to do less talking and more doing, less boasting about what we know and more applying that knowledge to our lives.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. I receive your words of wisdom. Forgive any and all hypocrisy in my life and make me a woman of integrity in my heart that show my faith with my actions rather than my words. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
