Less Talk, More Doing

“So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17 AMP

What matters most in life is not what we say, but what we do. This is integrity of the heart. This is faith walked out and shown by actions rather than words. When God reveals His will and gives us understanding on a matter, He doesn’t do it so that we can receive a spiritual high and then go back to operating contrary to His will. He shows us the way, so we can walk in it. He shows us what needs changing in our lives so we can change it. God doesn’t waste anything, not even information, revelation and understanding. If He gives it, there is a grace attached to that word to carry it out. How easy we can get caught up in the feelings associated with having a wealth of knowledge. This was a common problem among the Pharisees of Jesus’ time and remains a problem today. We must put our knowledge to the test and let God’s word go to work for us. How can we call ourselves disciples of Jesus and not follow Him. You absolutely must make it your life’s primary goal to do less talking and more doing, less boasting about your knowledge and more applying it in your life.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. I receive your words of wisdom, and I choose to act on what I know to do by your grace and power. Forgive any hypocrisy in my life and make me a woman of integrity in my heart that show my faith with my actions rather than my words. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
