Let Him Pour In and Pour Out

“Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21, ESV

One day God gave me a vision of a little girl carrying a bucket to pour out. She is walking with her pail in hand, and after she empties it, she goes and looks up to heaven. She lifts her empty pail so it can be filled. She then goes and pours out again. She does this continuously all throughout the day. She loves being poured into as much as she loves pouring out.

This little girl represents you and I. Many of us wonder what our purpose is in life. Our purpose is to be poured into and poured out of continually. Although none of us are perfect, we can be perfectly yielded to God. Let Him fill you completely and pour out of you His living waters into the lives of those who are thirsty for Him. Only He can satisfy and meet their needs.

Prayer: Father God, I come to you asking you to fill me with your love and your power, and pour yourself out of me into a world that is longing for something real. I have nothing to give them on my own. Only you can save them. Only you can heal them. Fill my empty heart as I lift it up and pour out of me. I may not be perfect, Lord, but help me to be perfectly yielded to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
