When we’re connected to God, we’re full of life and we blossom like a rose. Connected to Him, we are vibrant and experience His grace and goodness. However, what happens to the rose when it’s cut from the vine? If you’ve ever received roses from someone, you admire their beauty and quickly place them in a vase. The first day you pass by the vase, you smile because the roses are beautiful. Then comes the second day, you pass by them and the roses still look beautiful. Then the third day, you start to see that a few of the roses have withering petals and the water begins to look dirty. So you empty the water and pour in clean water, and you stand back and smile once again, admiring your beautiful roses. As the days go by, you clearly see the roses are no longer as vibrant, and you say, “My lovely roses are dying!” In reality, those roses died the minute they were cut from the vine. If you’re not connected to God, you’re not dying, you’re dead already. You just don’t see the color change, the dirty water, or the withering effect in your life yet. It’s over time, that we experience the hopelessness, the condemnation, torturing thoughts, and darkness that we experience apart from a growing relationship with God. Things may appear to be going well for you, but success apart from God is short-lived. There’s no life or peace apart from Him. Stay connected to God and see your relationship with Him as a vital connection. Grow in your relationship with Him. Let Him make you successful and a blessing to others. He loves you and wants you to stay connected!
“I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (Amplified)
You have set it up to where I can have a close relationship with You. You have removed the middle wall that separated us and have given me total access to Your Presence. You did all of that, so that You can have a thriving and beautiful relationship with me. Thank You. I pray my time with You never becomes a chore, and my growth in You never becomes dull and lifeless. Revive in me a passion for You. Create in me a hunger and thirst for You. You are my God and by Your grace I choose to stay connected to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
