Live An Impactful Life

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” Matthew 6:19-21, NKJV.

A few days ago, I discovered that a dear and precious woman of God made her transition into glory. Although I didn’t know Minister Joy Gaddis personally, her teachings impacted my life and the lives of so many. As I read the posts that people shared on social media about her, it made me realize even more the value of living an impactful and meaningful life.

I want you to please take a moment and think about the men or women the LORD has used to impact your life for Him. Begin to thank the LORD for those you have observed at a distance or up close and personal, whose life, love, teachings and example blessed you and changed you forever.

Now ask yourself this question…

Are you having an impact on others for God’s glory?

If you’ve been serving God by serving others and loving God by loving others, you are living an impactful life! You may never know the level of impact you’ve had until you enter into eternity and the LORD takes you to His Treasure Room filled with treasures He has stored up for you. These treasures are the people you helped, the lives you saved, those you taught God’s Word, and all of the acts of kindness you displayed. God records them all and stores up treasures that you will one day receive in glory.

Pastor Rick Warren once said, “The way you store up treasure in heaven is by investing in getting people there.” God doesn’t want you to come to heaven alone. He wants you to bring as many people with you as possible. Reject any lie from the enemy that tells you that you don’t have anything to offer. Reject any lie that says your life doesn’t matter and you’ll never impact anyone. Instead, receive the truth of God’s Word that says you have received a treasure in your earthen vessel (see 2 Corinthians 4:7). This treasure is your personal knowledge of the LORD Jesus Christ and through your knowledge of Him, He impacts you and uses you to impact others. It is through your growing knowledge of Him that He blesses you and makes you a blessing!

Prayer: Father, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. Thank you for every person you’ve used to impact my life. Without these men and women of God I would not be here. Without their life, their love, their example and their commitment to teaching your Word, I would not be who I am today. LORD I pray with all my heart that you bless them abundantly, and cause them to reap from all of the seed they’ve sown. LORD I desire to live a more impactful and meaningful life for your glory. Help me to lay up treasures in heaven. Help me care about what you care about. Enrich me LORD and prosper my soul so I can have something of value to give others. Free me LORD and use me to free others from the kingdom of darkness. Teach me LORD and use me to teach others. Encourage me deeply in my soul and use me to encourage and comfort others. Let everything you accomplish in me, be the same thing accomplished in the lives of everyone you send my way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
