Look to Me

“He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD” Psalms 112:7, ESV.

My husband came to me one evening saying, “Pray with me for this person who…” Before he could finish his sentence, I said, “No. Don’t tell me. I can’t take anymore bad news.” So he prayed a general prayer as I joined hands with him.

Death is everywhere. Crime is everywhere. Abuse and violence is everywhere. Genocide, slaughtering, confusion and idolatry is everywhere. Hearts are turning away from the truth, and people are not fearing the Lord and honoring Him.

When I looked to God, crying out to Him, I said, “Lord, how can I make a difference in this world. So much going on. It’s too much….” Then He said to me, “Look to Me! Keep your mind stayed on Me. Keep your affections set on Me. Like Peter on the water, keep your eyes fixed on Me. I will keep you in perfect peace. Look not to your inabilities, but look to My limitless abilities. Look not at what you are unable to do. Look at what I can do by My strength and power. My arm is not too short that it cannot save. I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. I am the one that saves. Look to Me. Keep your eyes stayed on Me. Keep your affections set on Me and no weapon that is formed against you will prosper. I will help you be clever as a serpent and harmless as a dove. I will use you as you stay yielded to Me, and keep your focus on Me. Says the Lord of hosts.”

Thank you, Father, for your comforting words to my word. I receive it in your name. I turn my heart and my attention to you. Only you can do something about everything I’m seeing around me. Help me focus on the Good News of Jesus, the Good News of your Kingdom, the Good News of your salvation and not the bad news I see or hear. I rejoice in you Lord, and I set my affections you. In the mighty name of Jesus! Amen.
