Lord, why did you choose me?

Posted on Posted in devotions

nervous hands
missing teeth
a curved spine
timidity
the poster child
for insecurity
Lord, why did you choose me
easily offended
take things personally
emotionally unstable
hiding the real me
I cry deeply within myself
Lord, why did you choose me
from a field of flowers
you could’ve picked
anyone would’ve been
qualified fit
most suited
for something as great as this
Lord, why did you choose me

for reasons of My own
a beautiful treasure
made new
dearly loved
by all in My kingdom
Daughter, I chose you
before you were formed
I knew you
before you loved me
I loved you
not changing My mind
about you
Daughter, I chose you
so feel what you feel
but keep moving
receive My love
and keep growing
I’m working within you
My promises
because Daughter, I chose you

“[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.” Philippians 2:13, Amplified

Your insecurities are no match for God. And if you’re waiting for Him to change His mind about you, you’ll be waiting for all eternity. You can’t change His mind no matter how hard you try. He’s working in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. Count yourself blessed even in all the mess. Because His hand is on your life and you can’t remove it.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. I worship You. You are the strength of my life, and I’m nothing without you. But with you, I’m a force to be reckoned with. Hallelujah. Thank you for encouraging me deeply in my soul. Bless me Lord, and make me a blessing in the earth. Remove all fear, doubt and unbelief from me and make me a confident woman in You. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
