Maintain a Good Attitude

” Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content.” Philippians 4:11 (KJV)

I will never forget my husband and I lived in a small two bedroom apartment with our two kids at the time. I worked from home and had to setup my business on the kitchen table. There were papers, folders, toys, and bottles everywhere. My kids were running around and I was trying to operate a professional business. In my mind it was not working out and my attitude was not the greatest. The Holy Spirit began to convict me and I knew that I had allowed my situation to change my attitude. I learned that even though I couldn’t change my situation, I could choose to change my attitude.

We always have a choice regardless of what we are facing. Choosing to maintain a good attitude is our way of telling God that we are thankful for what He has already done and our faith and hope is in Him. This is what gives God room to work wonders in our lives.

Prayer: Father, thank You for helping my attitude. I want to see things improve in my situation, but help me not to let it cause my attitude to become negative. Help me maintain a good attitude. I choose to be thankful and trust you in with my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Recently, I had a reality check about my attitude. I was driving and I just felt as if my face and my presents was that of a pucker faced, sore lemon expression about me and I just started laughing because, I have absolutely no! No! reason to have a bad attitude and then want to say I’m trusting God. So, thank you for this word of encouragement today. My decision is to be gratefully regardless to what’s going on and to have the right attitude.
