Make God’s Word Real to You
“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” (Matthew 13:23)
Make God’s word real to you. Make it come alive. See its relevance. The Bible is not just a book of stories, but it is a Life Source. Don’t try to set out to read the Bible in a year. That is pointless if your goal is spiritual growth. Take one scripture at a time and meditate on it until it has taken root in your heart and is visible in your life. If you find yourself meditating on the same scripture for months until it gets down in your heart, then do it. Put that one verse on sticky notes everywhere if you must. It has to take root. Only the word that you understand with your heart will produce for you. Your heart is rich, good soil, and it craves the seed of God’s word to be planted deep down within it. When the storms come, when the tests come, when the heat and pressure comes, you will be preserved only by what you know that you know that you know. Those words of life will minister life and strength to you just when you need it most. And when you have no Bible in sight, you will have a rich treasury of knowledge to draw from.
Prayer: Father, thank You for my Bible. It is filled with wisdom and knowledge. I pray for a deeper knowledge of You. I pray Your word travels from my mind to my heart. Let it take root and produce life in me. Give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Enlighten the eyes of my understanding. Help me see what You want me to see. Teach me Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
