No Compromise

“And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between the two opinions” If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word” 1 Kings 18: 21, NKJV.

The word “compromise” means to come to an agreement or settlement of a dispute. It is also defined as accepting standards that are lower than desirable. For years and years, I had an outlook that compromised my entire life, family, children, and everyone else around me. I was totally unaware. I agreed to things I didn’t want to and settled for less to avoid certain situations. I never thought it would affect me the way it has today. Nor did I understand the ripple effect that would take place.

Crying out to Jesus opened up the gateway to a truth that would set me free forever. I discovered that there can be no compromising when it comes to Jesus. I made a decision to choose the Lord and found that it is an all or nothing decision.

There is no “straddling the fence”, in meaning, “God, I will give You 90% and keep 10% just in case You can’t handle one area of my life.” We serve a God that is never irresolute with His decisions. He never says, “Maybe today I will love you.” He never compromised one inch of His walk to the Cross. Jesus never compromised preparing for us an eternal home, giving us forgiveness of sins, or salvation.

As followers of Christ, we are to walk in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. It is the Lord who saved us, and who has redeemed us. It is the Lord who restores us. It is the Lord we will stand before, not man. Everything we do is to the honor and glory of our Savior. It might mean losing some people, places, and things. It is necessary to focus on the Author and Finisher of our faith, the only One who can destroy both the body and the soul. He is worth every word He says, and so are you.

Ask the Lord today if there is any area of your life that is compromising the Cross of Christ. Request that He help strengthen and settle you back on your feet in Jesus name.

Prayer: Father, I need You. I need Your help to stand firm in Your name and not the world, or it’s views. You are the only Person that matters. Help me to not compromise this relationship with You. Give me courage. Unleash the “Lion of Judah” that lives within me. I want to shine for You and only You without compromise. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
