“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” John 15:4 (NLT)
When you are married, you exchange your “I’s” for “We”. You are no longer independent and making decisions on your own, but are now joined in a covenant relationship with your husband. Marriage is about two people becoming one. Being one flesh doesn’t mean that you will automatically flow together as one. It takes time and effort to learn how to actually operate in life that way. The same goes with your relationship with God. You are one with Him, and you spend your entire life learning how to flow together as one. Until salvation, you made decisions on your own, leaning to your own best judgment. Now God wants you to learn to no longer operate independent from Him, but as one.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for making me one with You. Help me learn how to flow with You. In Jesus name, Amen.
