“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other…” 1 Corinthians 12:7, Living Translation
While in prayer, the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “I want My people to operate more in the spiritual gifts I have given them, and begin to expect more from their brothers and sisters in Christ.”
After I gave birth to my youngest son, I had began to have terrible migraine headaches. No matter what I did, the headaches just wouldn’t go away. So a close friend called me one day and asked how I was doing. I let her know about the migraines, and before we got off the phone, she asked if she could pray for me. I said yes, and after she prayed, the migraine headaches completely went away and never came back! Praise God!
My friend isn’t known for operating in God’s healing power. She’s not on anyone’s healing ministry team that travels the world, but she’s known in the kingdom of God, and I’m thankful the spiritual gift within her greatly blessed me!
Don’t ever become so familiar with someone that you think they don’t have anything to offer you. You may know all about someone’s financial problems, health problems, or relationship problems, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be used mightily by God to bless you.
Your sister in Christ may have a prophetic word from God that could totally revolutionize your life! Your brother in Christ could have the gift of miracles! We are to expect more from each other and operate more in the spiritual gifts each of us have received by the Spirit of God!
Prayer: Father God, I thank you for this understanding today! I ask that you please reveal to me the spiritual gifts you have given me. Help me to understand them more, begin to operate in them more, and help me to expect more from my sisters and brothers in Christ. Cause your people to help each other with the gifts you have given to us by your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
