Stretch Me Lord, Stretch Me Now

January 13, 2016

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9, NIV.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV.
Before we entered into this new year, I meditated on the many blessings in 2015. As I sat there pondering on the new year to come, one word came to me….STRETCH!! I was led to look the word up in a dictionary.
Stretch-To be pulled to the full length or extent; To hold out, reach forth or extend; To be pulled to greater lengths; The act of expanding
We are being called to STRETCH! As Daughters of the King, our Father desires to stretch us in each area of our lives. He wants us to reach forth and to be pulled to greater lengths like never before. Imagine holding a rubber band and stretching it until you can’t stretch it any longer. It’s in the stretching we began to see all the rubber band is capable of. We can see its potential. Wouldn’t it be awesome for our Father to stretch our faith, stretch our thinking, our abilities, worship, prayer life, dedication, and stretch us in our giving? Being stretched by God requires faith and not fear. It forces us to step outside of our comfort zones and takes us above the limitations people have set for us. Say this now: STRETCH ME LORD, STRETCH ME NOW.
Prayer: Father, we thank you for new beginnings in my life. I come before you to simply thank you for having the ability to stretch me. Stretch my faith, my thinking, my abilities, my worship, prayer life, my dedication, and my giving. I know that increase comes from above. Use me mightily Father and cause me to be all you designed and purposed me to be. Get the most out of me. Remove all fear and doubt and help me trust you more. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

Expect a Miracle Everyday

January 11, 2016

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
God arrested my heart one day. “He said, why do you pray with no real expectation of Me? You don’t believe I will do what you asked for? You cry and weep and pray fervently before Me, and then you forget what you’ve asked for and don’t recognize when I’ve done it.”
If there’s one thing I know how to do ladies, I know how to pray. But that alone is not good enough in God’s Kingdom. We must also know how to receive what we’ve asked for and be able to recognize when it manifests.
The truth is, some of us like to pray just to hear ourselves talk. We pray out of a sense of duty or obligation. But those are the wrong reasons. If you’re going to pray, if you’re going to communicate with a mighty God, pray with great expectations. Expect God to do what He’s promised you. Be on the look out for His promise to show up at any given moment.
Contrary to how things may look for you right now, this is your year of miracles! This is your year of manifestation! God will give you stored up treasures from your heavenly account. He will send rain where there’s been drought. He will protect you from all harm. He will provide supernaturally. He will bless you with a deeper walk with Him. Recognize it when it happens and praise Him.
If you pray everyday, you can expect Him to bless you everyday.
Prayer: Thank You Father God for your rich words to Me. I love you, Lord, and I appreciate your desire to bless me. Help me to stay in position to receive. Help me to not be moved by how things appear. Help me to not forget what I’ve prayed for, but to stay in high expectancy of you to do what you promised. Thank you in advance! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Greater Obedience

January 10, 2016

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19
God can take the smallest seed of obedience and yield the greatest Kingdom results. All He needs is your actions, not your lip-service.
You may be thanking God that the person who started this devotional ministry obeyed the Lord’s calling and did what He asked of her. Now, what about you? Who is thanking God that you obeyed Him? Who is saying, “Oh I’m so glad she started this women’s prayer group, my relationship with God has deepened, and my life is soaring! Is anyone saying, “I’m so glad she obeyed God and stepped out on faith!” What will your obedience produce in your home, in your church, and in your community? Just like with Jesus, your obedience can cause many to be made right with God. You may feel like one person against one thousand, but know that you and God always represent a majority! You’re never outnumbered in Him! Never! Don’t underestimate the seemingly small task the Lord has given you, it will yield great results that will impact future generations after you.
You may say, “How can I obey God; I can’t hear His voice and I don’t know what He’s asking me to do.” Well, until God fine tunes your ability to hear Him, you still have 66 books of Bible verses filled with instructions on how you are to live your life. Obey His written word. Obey how He says you are to treat people (see 1 Peter 1:22). Obey how He says you are to run from sexual sin (see 1 Corinthians 6:18). Obey how He says you are to be a light in a dark world (see Ephesians 5:8). Obey how He says you are to forgive those who hurt you (see Mark 11:25-26). Obey how He says you are to share Him with others (see Mark 16:15). Your obedience will yield great results in God’s Kingdom!
Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking so clearly to me. Forgive me for any disobedience in my life. Forgive me for every time I’ve told you yes in my prayer closet, but no in my actions. Help me to obey you and to not just give you lip-service. Help me to honor you with my life. Use me in my home, church and community. Help me to do what you’re asking of me so you will be glorified. Whether I want to do it or not doesn’t matter. Whether I understand your instructions or not doesn’t matter. I’ll obey you because you’re my King. I ask you to sit on the throne of my heart and reign in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have no part in it.

January 9, 2016

“For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield” Psalms 5:12, ESV.
One day my husband had to make an important decision to leave his job due to corruption in top management. It was tough for him because his love for his coworkers had grown. Even though they behaved like heathens, he loved them as brothers. He turned down their advances to watch pornography at work. He turned down their invitations to drink alcohol. He wouldn’t curse with them or gossip, but was still able to be a friend and tell them about the Lord. When the moment of truth came, and they wanted him to lie. He said, “No, I will have no part in it.” And as he spoke with his supervisor, I listened in on the conversation and my heart remembers every word said. “Due to the dishonesty in the management, I can no longer work here. We don’t have to lie in order to get an extra buck. We can do things right and honor God, and He will bless us. Anytime you lie, it always catches up with you…” His words were filled with love, and his eyes were full of tears. His voice was stern, and his stance was firm. I’ve never been more attracted to him. After the conversation, I told him how proud I was of him and kissed his head.
The time will come when you will have to make a bold stand for the Lord, no matter the outcome. Do what you know in your heart is the right thing to do and pray that God leads your every step and fills your mouth with what to say. Remember, if you stay true to what’s right, God will bless you and make you a great blessing. You will not lack. He will supernaturally provide for you and your family. He will cover you with His favor. He will make a powerful statement to those around you that He is real and true.
Let’s pray. Father God, thank you for giving us the heart and mind to do what’s right. Help us to make a stand for you no matter where we are. If something’s not right, help us be courageous enough to say no. Help us stand for righteousness and honor you with our lives. As we do, we trust you to comfort our hearts and provide all that we need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

All Glory to God!

January 8, 2016

Dear Readers, we would like to take a very special moment and give honor to God our Father in heaven. We honor Jesus and His Words and we honor the Holy Spirit. We are mere women that God has chosen, for reasons of His own, to write through for DOTK. We’re not the only women’s ministry that God is speaking through. There are others and they are making a great impact for God’s glory. Please know that it is God that works through people, it is not the people themselves. We give God all of the glory and encourage you to do the same. Let Him use to the fullest extent and then lift Him up high and glorify His name.
Love,
The DOTK Family

A message from God's heart for you.

January 8, 2016

“I will help you stay the course. I will help you not veer too far to the left or to the right. As you keep your eyes on Me and as you keep yourself hidden in Me, I will help you make progress. True progress. That’s what you seek, and that’s what I will give. I provide a change in the heart and in the mind. I provide transformation of the life and I make an exchange with you that can not be undone. I take your burden and I give you My joy. I take your captivity and I give you My freedom. Don’t you see? In Me, you live, move and have your being. So stay in Me. Stay in Me. Stay in Me. If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, daughter, you can ask whatever you will and it will be done to you. For you. In you. Through you. Let Me do in you what I’ve been desiring to do. Draw close and hide in Me, and you will be safe from all harm. No enemy can remove you from your secret place in Me. No enemy can pluck you from My hand. No enemy can separate you from My love. No enemy can change or alter My course for your life. It is set. The stage is set. My plans for you are set. Come to Me and eat of My Word, and drink of Me. I will fill you completely and satisfy every area of your life. You will hunger no more. You will thirst no more. And your joy will be made full to the overflowing. Overflow with Me. That’s what the people in your life are waiting to see. My sons and daughters are being revealed and it is a great unveiling that is taking place. There’s so much more for you to taste and see. Stay in Me. Stay in Me. Stay in Me. Says the Spirit of the Lord.”
Prayer: Yes, Father. I receive your word and I will stay in you. Help me to cling to you for dear life. I am desperate for you. Reveal yourself in me. Don’t let any sin have dominion over me. Strengthen me as I come to you. You are my life. It’s in you that I live, move and have my being. I love you with everything I have. Thank you for loving me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” John 15:7, ESV.

Don't be ashamed of the people God has called you to reach.

January 7, 2016

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile” Romans 1:16, NIV.
God cares about everybody. It’s not just the saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost that He loves. He loves us all, and before He returns for His church, He wants everyone on board. He cares about the woman selling her body to feed her children. He wants her reached with His love and transformed by His power. He cares about the woman whose body, mind and soul has been damaged by years of abuse. He cares about the woman behind bars who is afraid she will never be free—even after she’s released. God cares. When He tells us to not be ashamed of the gospel, He is not only referring to the message itself but the people He’s called us to reach. We must not be ashamed of them!
Maybe you come from a background of drug and alcohol abuse. There are many struggling with this that need to hear the gospel message. Who would best reach them than you? Don’t be ashamed of them. Maybe you come from a background of mental illness and all sorts of emotional disorders. There are many who need to be reached from someone that understands exactly what they’re going through. Don’t close your heart to them!
It is God’s heart desire that every person has the opportunity to know Him. From the jail cell to the crack house. From the crazy house to the White House. He desires that none perish, but that all are saved and come into a true and real knowledge of Jesus! The question is, will you help Him in that endeavor? Will you stand for His Kingdom cause no matter where He sends you?
Do the work of an evangelist and make full proof of the ministry God has given to you. Don’t be ashamed of the people He has called you to reach!
Prayer: Yes, Lord. I receive your word. You have spoken right to the core of my heart and to who I am. I am your servant, and I’m here to do whatever you ask of me and go wherever you ask me to go. Forgive me if I’ve ever been ashamed of where you brought me from. Fill me with your Holy Ghost power and use me to reach the people you send me to. Help me to do my part in advancing your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You can say no.

January 6, 2016

“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say” Exodus 4:12, NIV.
Growing up, I was the quiet one. My sister was the loud and outspoken one that no one bothered. I envied her so much. How she said what she felt and how she let no one take advantage of her. That wasn’t the case for me. It was as though I had a neon sign over my head that read, “Touch me!” It started with a touch from a cousin, and then a touch from my neighbor’s grandfather. Then, a touch from a teenage boy, whose mom was a close friend of the family. I would just sit there. Frozen. Lay there. Frozen. When I finally did have the courage to speak up to my mother, it didn’t go like I hoped. And on one occasion she disciplined me in front of the violator for letting him do that to me. I was crushed. She had her own set of issues at that time, and I’ve forgiven her. But my question to myself was, why was I quiet? Why did I not stand up for myself? What happened to my screaming “No! Stop! Something. It wasn’t until I became an adult and grew closer in my relationship with the Lord that I learned why. I didn’t know I could say no. It’s as simple as that. No one told me, “You don’t have to let anyone do that to you.” No one taught me the power that I have as an individual.
So I’m going to tell you, just in case no one ever told you. You can say no. You don’t have to allow yourself to be violated or abused in any way. You can say stop. You can leave. Even the oceans have boundaries set by God. You can set boundaries in your life and can let someone know when they’ve crossed the line. You have power. Don’t let anyone make you feel like something’s wrong with you for not letting them take advantage of you. God gave you a body and it’s special to God. Use the voice He’s given you. Let Him heal every painful memory. I know you’d rather forget it ever happened to you. Let God remove all hurt you associate with words such as touch, intimacy, and love. Sure, it will be a process, but when you completely place your life in the Lord’s hands, there’s no safer place you could be. He will free you from the inside. He will be glorified in your life.
Will you pray with me?
Father God, you said when we call on you, you said you will answer us and show us great and mighty things we didn’t know. There’s so many things we don’t know. Lord, give us true knowledge that will unlock all of the prisons that have kept us bound all these years. Thank you that you care about me and my sister’s total freedom. I’ve forgiven everyone that has ever hurt me. I ask that all of my sisters reading this will do the same. Help us forgive from the heart. Renew our minds and transform our lives. We just want to be free. Help us to speak up when we’re uncomfortable or when we are hurting. Help us take back our voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I deserve wedding bells.

January 5, 2016

you can’t lay down with me
until I see a ring
until I hear I do
until I get a life long commitment
not just empty promises
from you
I deserve wedding bells
not to be your side chick
I deserve flower girls
and an elegant gown that fits
didn’t wait all this time
to be your number two
I deserve you
to get down on one knee
and ask me
to marry you
until then
you can’t kiss me
you can’t touch me
not answering your midnight calls
or wearing lingerie
and no i don’t want to see you in your drawers
I’m saving my secrets
I’m saving my screams
I’m saving my love notes
I’m saving my dreams
and all those things
I deem precious to me
I deserve wedding bells
even if it means
waiting forever
oh well
God loves me
“Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm…” Song of Solomon 8:6
Marriage is special to God. If you desire to be married, God will give you the desires of your heart. He knows the man that will fit you perfectly in every way. He knows what you need and you have to trust that. I know you may have your list of all the qualities you want, but God has a list too and if you let Him, He will do exceeding abundantly above anything you could imagine. Don’t let the enemy trick you into compromising. Don’t override God’s inner check. Don’t think you deserve whatever you can get because of your past mistakes. You are special to God. Your body is special. Your kisses are special. Let God bless you my sister, because you deserve wedding bells.
Prayer: Father God, I thank you for loving me so gently, and for helping me see how treasured I am. Yes, I deserve real love and that’s what I really desire.I’m tired of compromising. Help me not to settle or give my body away until you say it’s time. Help me to see myself as worth waiting for. Keep me Father close to your side until you present me to my man of God that you’ve prepared for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
