Please Don’t Disappoint Me

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.” Isaiah 54:4 (KJV)

One day a woman posted an ad on a website offering to sale her living room suite for a very low price. She was selling the furniture because she needed to pay her rent or she and her children were going to be evicted the next day. When my husband and I saw the ad, we talked it over and felt led by God to bless her with the rent money and let her keep the furniture. When we called her and told her what God had instructed us to do, she began to cry and praise God. Because of her desperate situation, she didn’t need someone joking around with her, so she pleaded with us not to disappoint her. She chose to believe us and we surely kept our promise. Maybe, like that woman, you are in a situation where you need a miracle and because you have experienced so many unmet promises from well meaning people, you find yourself begging God not to disappoint you. But God ain’t like man. One thing you can know about Him is He never disappoints those who put all of their confidence and trust in Him. If He has to make a way out of no way for you, He will. He will do exactly what He said!

Prayer: Father, I believe in You. I trust You to do what You said You will do.  I line up my thoughts and my words with Yours. I receive Your rest right now because I choose to trust in Your Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
