“That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV)
One day while in a large department store my son became lost. I didn’t know where he was and for a moment I was afraid. A store employee approached me and asked me if everything was ok. I told her that my son was lost in the store and right away she ran and made an announcement over the intercom. She announced his name and said, “Your mother is looking for you and is up front waiting for you!” Soon he found me and came running to me. But what would have happened if the store worker would have announced, “A little boy is lost, but why in the world is he lost? He should have stayed with his mama! Boy what’s wrong with you?!” While that may be true, it wouldn’t have brought him back to me. This same illustration applies to you as a believer. You have a lost and dying world around you and you have been given a word of reconciliation not a word of condemnation. The message God has given you reconciles the lost back to the Father through Jesus. He is looking for them and is waiting for them with arms wide open.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for reconciling me back to You. I pray that You help me reconcile those around me. They are lost Father. Instead of coming down on them for being lost, teach me how to reconcile them to You. You are looking for them and are waiting for them to return to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
