Refresh Others and God Will Refresh You

The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25 NLT)

While in the grocery store, I came across a woman.  She was placing food on the shelf.  I didn’t know her personally, yet I knew in my heart that she was a sister in the Lord.  I then begin to speak into her life and encourage her and she then began to speak into my life and encourage me.  Our mutual faith gave us both strength.  With tears in both of our eyes, we left from that place built up and encouraged to continue in the faith.  Sometimes we can get so caught up in the cares of life that we miss opportunities that God sends our way.  We can become distracted and if we are not sensitive to those around us we can miss out.  Don’t allow yourself to become distracted and caught up with cares.  Be sensitive to those around you.  Let God show you that sister that needs you.  You may feel like you don’t have the strength to reach out to anyone.  You may want to go and hide in a cave, and may feel like you need prayer for your own self right now.  While I was in that store, I felt the same way.  I felt like I needed to be strengthened and for someone to pray for me, but I reached out anyway to encourage and pray for her and God strengthened us both.  When you bless others, it blesses you and nourishes your soul.  Seek to make a difference in other people’s lives regardless of what you are going through and regardless of how you feel.  Because God loves you, He will always make sure you that you are also refreshed.

Prayer: Father, help me see every opportunity that You place before me to strengthen my sister.  Help me not to be distracted or entangled with the cares of life that I fail to see the needs of those around me.  Refresh others through me.  You are faithful and I know You will refresh me also. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
