“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 29:13-14a (NLT)
When you seek God with all of your heart, you will see Him. When you search for Him, you find Him and will be forever changed. No one that encounters God remains the same. Saul breathed out threatenings and persecuted early believers. His encounter with God on the road to Damascus didn’t come by his wholehearted seeking, it came as a result of the heartfelt prayers of the saints. Once he encountered God, he was changed and was used mightily by God after his conversion. When you are desperate to see change in your life, desperate to not leave God’s presence the same, desperate to be free of that issue you’ve dealt with for years, only then are you truly seeking God with all of your heart. At the heart of wholehearted seeking is humility. It is a “Lord, if You don’t help me, I can’t be helped.” God promises when you seek Him with that kind of desperate reckless abandonment, you will find Him. You will see a different perspective of Him that you’ve never seen, and you will be changed. “I will be found by you” He promises. What we see today is so many Christians that have lived without ever experiencing a real encounter with God. How can you have a true conversion without a real encounter? You can’t. Seek Him and you will see Him and when you see Him you will be converted and will see change.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your word to me. I receive it. I am desperate for You, desperate to see You in my life. If You don’t help me, I can’t be helped. My total dependence is on You. I seek You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
