Single and Satisfied?…Not So Much

Posted on Posted in devotions

As we face this Christmas season with love all in the air, many single women are having to spend it by themselves. And the “Every kiss begins with Kay” commercial is beginning to get on many of our nerves. We want someone to love. We want to feel the embrace of strong arms. While our desire for companionship is a healthy desire that so many have, we have to learn to enjoy our lives as we wait for our ‘Mr. Oh So Right’. Don’t let not having someone to share the holidays with cause your life to be put on pause. Because you are single you can do things that married women can’t. You can enjoy freedom in a way that can make a married woman envious. You can spontaneously jump in the car and enjoy a nice road trip, or go and champion a holiday cause to feed and clothe the poor or help give toys to children who don’t have any. You don’t have to wait until you are married to be feel complete. Let God complete you and fulfill you and then go on to enjoy being a tremendous blessing in this world.

“I want you to live as free of complications as possible. When you’re unmarried, you’re free to concentrate on simply pleasing the Master. Marriage involves you in all the nuts and bolts of domestic life and in wanting to please your spouse, leading to so many more demands on your attention. The time and energy that married people spend on caring for and nurturing each other, the unmarried can spend in becoming whole and holy instruments of God.” 1 Corinthians 7:32-34 (MSG)

Oh Lord,
I pray for every woman that’s having to spend their Christmas by themselves. I pray that you let them know they are not alone. I pray they are satisfied in You and realize that You see their desire for companionship and, in time, will bless them with the man that they desire. While they wait, I pray they move forward and enjoy this time of their life. Bless their Christmas season with peace of mind, and loads of laughter and fun. In Jesus Name, Amen.
