“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
I once had a falling out with a close friend and after the altercation we decided it was best that we go our separate ways. It felt like I lost a part of myself when the friendship ended. I would go months of doing well and then it would hit me all over again of how much I miss what we had. When I talked to God about it He would tell me to let it go because He has something better for me. God’s promise of “something better” is what gives us hope.
We humans hurt eachother all of the time, but we have to learn to forgive, let it go and trust God. Give your hurts and disappointments to God. He is right there and He is going nowhere. He has something better planned for you. Something beyond your wildest dreams. Greater than you can ever imagine.
After some time, God did keep His promise to me. He gave me something better. He placed a new friend in my life that is extraordinary. She reminds me so much of myself. Same passion. Same heart. Same sense of humor. Same characteristics. We are so much alike and yet we maintain our own uniqueness. I’m looking forward to what God will do in our friendship and how He will cause it to grow and deepen.
It doesn’t matter what happened between you and an individual. Forgive yourself. Forgive them. And trust God for something better. There are people that can bring out the crazy in you and then there are people that can bring out the best in you. Let God place people in your life who will bring out the best in you and will make you better.
He will make everything alright. He has something better planned for you.
Prayer: Thank You Father for Your comfort and Your unconditional love for me. Thank You for filling every void in my heart. As I draw near to you, I ask that You draw near to me. Fill every void, God. Help me let go and trust You. I love You more than anyone or anything. I give You my heart. Heal every part. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
