Spiritual Battles

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

There’s a story of a woman that had recently received Jesus in her heart. She gladly shared her testimony with her church congregation and then was asked to pray. She began her prayer with giving much praise and glory to God. Then she focused her attention on the devil and while adamantly rebuking him, she began to curse out the devil. She had the right idea, but the wrong method. Spiritual wars are not fought with carnal or fleshly weapons. They are fought and won in the spirit. God’s words are spirit and they are life, and when you release His words out of your mouth, stand on it, and apply it to your situation, things will change. Use the power that God has made available to you.

Prayer: Father God, I am powerless without You. It’s Your strength and power that makes me strong. I ask that by Your power, You destroy every stronghold in my life. Deliver me and set me free.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
