“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
When a child of God comes into the fold and discovers love and grace they have been searching for, oftentimes the obstacle that appears next is: “What do I do next?” As followers of Christ, we cannot afford to let this question simmer for our brothers and sisters without providing practical resolution and Godly direction. The most important fact behind our divine purpose is we stand out from the world to fit in with Christ and we do have something to offer in service to Him. No matter how small your role or undeveloped your talent, it is significant and we must start somewhere. The scripture above tell us the Lord rejoices to see us begin. How great does it feel to have anyone rejoice over things we do, but for the Lord to rejoice… WOW! Beginning could mean allowing your mind to be renewed; allowing the Word to embed on the tables of your heart; lending a hand in a ministry within your church; serving a need in your community. The needs are insurmountable, but with the grace and guidance of God, we can make an impact. We are the light of the world. When your light is turned on, it shines more brightly the more you serve when the glory is for God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me value the small beginnings in service to Your kingdom with which I have been blessed. Lord, Your Word says my latter days will be greater than my former. I exalt you now in all that I do and say as a child of God. Please direct my paths and reveal my purpose in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
