Stay Ready!

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” 1 Peter 1:13 (KJV)

When the people of Israel was preparing for their exit out of Egypt, the Passover was eaten with their loins girded (Exodus 12:11). They weren’t sitting around playing card games. They were ready to go! They knew the Lord had given Moses instructions and they were ready to go forward. It was customary in Biblical times for men to wear long robes with a girdle tied around their waste. When they needed to perform a task, they would tuck their robes in their girdles and move. It’s time to move! You can’t move if you are all caught up in nonsense. If you want to continue running the race that God has set before you, you have no time to be involved in foolishness. Stay alert and ready to move! Stay ready to step out in faith when He tells you to step out, stay ready to speak the words He gives you to say, ready to reach those He instructs you to reach, and focused on the soon coming return of Jesus! Stay ready, Daughter of the King!

Prayer: Father, I choose to stay alert and sober, not busy playing around or involved in foolishness. I’m ready to be used by You! I’m ready to do what You tell me to do and go where You tell me to go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Devotional Writers.
