“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)
Have you ever tried to sit next to a fire to warm yourself, but the fire had died down? What most people do is grab a stick and stir the coals to cause the fire to grow again. In Apostle Paul’s encouragement to Timothy he tells him to “stir up the gift of God which is in you.” Notice he didn’t say that he himself would do the stirring in Timothy. He instructed him to stir it up. When you feel like your fire and passion for the Lord has died down and you lack zeal, don’t wait for anyone to stir you up and get you going again. Allow your relationship with God and your praises to Him to stir you up. As you step out to use what He has put in you, you’ll find it will grow. Don’t quench the spirit by holding back. Continue to stir up the gift within you on a continual basis and God will flow through you to bless others in a great way!
Prayer: Father, thank You for blessing me with the gift of Your spirit. I choose to stir it up now and use it bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
