Strength to Deal With It

Posted on Posted in devotions

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)

Maybe there was a bad experience that changed your view of men, an experience that altered your view of the church, experiences that changed your view of women, your view of marriage, your view of God or changed how you view life in general. That experience stands out so vividly in your mind that it feels like it happened yesterday. You may can’t see yourself on the other side of that situation, but God does. He will give you the grace to deal with the hurt and the strength to move forward and will correct those skewed views in your mind and heart. Only He can help you heal as you open your heart to Him and trust Him with it. He is with you and is determined to be glorified in you and give you a bright future.

Prayer: Father, I receive Your grace to deal with the hurt and pain of my past. I receive Your strength to move forward in obedience. You are with me in this and I receive Your help right now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
