“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:16-17
Remember, the Holy Spirit is your Comforter. So many hearts are left uncomforted when God has said, “I will leave you another Comforter, and He will be with you and will dwell in you.” The Comforter is the Holy Spirit. The Lord knew that we would need comfort in these last days like never before. He knew that we would need someone to be with us and live within us. Don’t see the Lord’s comfort only as a blanket that covers, but as the holy presence that fills. He doesn’t just cover you, He must fill you. A cover can be removed, but when you are full of something, you become what you are full of. Be filled today with the Spirit of the Lord. Be filled with His comfort and love. Be filled with His strength and power. Open up your heart and say, “Holy Spirit, I welcome you in my heart. I am empty. Fill me completely.” God loves to answer that prayer. He loves when you are desperately seeking to develop a deeper relationship with His own Holy Spirit. Let Him teach you how to live. Let Him show you how to thrive and not just survive. Let Him lead and direct you. Let Him help you get through that difficult situation and out on the other side. Let Him use you to be a blessing and a comfort to others. The blessings of getting to know the Holy Spirit better are endless. He intercedes for you when you don’t know how to pray. He consoles you with Words from your Heavenly Father. He teaches you and guides you into all truth. He dwells within you and is your Life Source. When you have a prayer language called the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it reminds that He lives within you. And when you pray in that holy and heavenly language, you are praying directly to the Father and you are being edified and built up at the same time. Don’t shut Holy Spirit out of your life. Don’t neglect such a beautiful Gift. Let Him be your Comforter, your Teacher, your Strengthener, your Advocate, your Intercessor, your Standby and your Helper.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I receive Him in my life. Fill me Holy Spirit. Baptize me in your Spirit and power. Give me that beautiful heavenly language. Lord, I receive the help of Your Holy Spirit today and everyday of my life. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
