Thirst No More

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14 (KJV)

Jesus told the woman at the well if she was to drink of the water that He offered her, she would never thirst again. It is God’s will that we never thirst again. Promiscuity will leave us thirsty still. Drug and alcohol addiction will leave us thirsty still. Shopping and maxing out all of our credit cards will leave us thirsty still. When we’ve tried everything known to man, we have to face the truth that nothing and no one can satisfy us but God. Simply joining a church won’t do it. That’s like coming close to a well, but never drinking from it. We have to receive Jesus in our heart and His love will begin to run deep into every place in our lives, filling us completely, and springing up out of us into a lost and dying world. We won’t have to look anywhere else, because in Him we are thirsty no more!

Prayer: Father, I’m just like that woman at the well! I desire to be thirsty no more! Give me of Your living water! Come into my life and satisfy every part of me. Satisfy my soul and I will share You with everyone I know who is thirsty! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
