He Will Provide the Resources or the Favor

2019-01-17 06:00:42

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19, Berean Study Bible.

One thing I’ve learned about God is when it comes to supplying the needs of His children, either He is going to provide us with the resources or He is going to provide us with favor. As He did in the days of Elijah when there was a drought in the land, God led him to a brook where he could drink and had ravens bring him food to eat. When the brook dried up, God led him to a widow to bless him. God will do the same for you if you allow yourself to be led by Him.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for providing my every need just as you did with Elijah. Help me learn to follow your leading. I trust and believe you to provide me with the resources or with the favor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! Glory to God!

2019-01-16 06:00:36

“Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)” Psalm 150:6, Amplified

One meaning of “praise” is to shine; to make a show; to boast; to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; and to celebrate. The Bible says, “Let everything that has breath praise (shine, make a show, boast, be clamorously foolish, rave, and celebrate) the Lord!”

I love my husband. He loves to praise God. He has no problem running, jumping, shouting and leaping. When he dances for the Lord, instead of standing at a distance feeling embarrassed, I jump right in with him. He looks like he’s doing the funky chicken and I look like I’m stomping bugs on the floor, but we don’t care. We love to praise God and be clamorously foolish because we have discovered the power of praise!

I remember when we moved into a rental home and had no furniture. Instead of murmuring and complaining, we called our children into the empty living room, and explained that we were going to praise God as a family. We shouted, lifted our voices and praised God with everything we had! Two weeks later, our living room was full of furniture that we didn’t have to pay a lot for.

God honors us when we honor Him. He loves the sound of our voices. He loves the sound of our steps on the floor and the clap of our hands. He lives in our praises. You don’t need any music to praise Him, you can praise Him right where you are! Just lift your hands and praise the Lord!

Shout “Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus! Glory to God!”

Endure All Things

2019-01-15 06:00:24

“Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.” 2 Timothy 2:10

To endure means to bear; to sustain; to support without breaking or yielding to force or pressure. As with metals, it endures a certain degree of heat without melting. There are six areas that God’s word instructs us to endure:

Endure Hardship
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 2:3

Endure God’s Discipline
“If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?” Hebrews 12:7

Endure Affliction
“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:5

Endure Temptation
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12

Endure Grief
“For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.” 1 Peter 2:19

Endure Persecutions and Tribulations
“So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:” 2 Thessalonians 1:4

You may ask, for how long? How long are we to endure these things? God says, “…he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13).

Prayer: Father God, it’s hard, but for you I will go through the storm. For you, I will endure the pain. For the people you’ve called me to reach, I’ll go through it, and with your help, I won’t break. Thank you for strengthening me to endure hardship, endure your discipline, endure afflictions, temptations, grief, persecutions and tribulations. I trust you even when it hurts. I trust you even when I don’t understand. I trust you when I feel tired beyond belief. I receive your strength right now to bear this patiently as you work on my behalf. Thank you for the crown of life that’s waiting for me. Thank you God that you are my rock and my anchor. You are my salvation and I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What it Means to Seek the LORD

2019-01-14 06:03:39

“Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6, New Living Translation (NLT)

The Hebrew definition for the word “seek” is to tread or frequent; usually to follow (for pursuit or search); by implication to seek or ask; specifically to worship. In the English Dictionary, to seek is to attempt to find (something).

The reason there aren’t many seekers of the Lord is because we have the wrong perspective of what it means to seek. Our seeking is more than an attempt to find something. It is how we worship; it is a full persuasion that God is who He said He is, and He will do everything He promised He will do.

The truth is, every Christian isn’t seeking God. Just because you are praying doesn’t mean you are seeking God. To seek is to frequent God’s company and search His Word for wisdom and direction until you receive what He has promised you. It is constantly asking, “OK Lord, I did step one. Now, what is step two? OK, I’ve obeyed You here. Now, what do You want me to do next?” It is constantly checking in with Him to navigate you to the victory He’s promised you.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your divine insight. I ask that you give me the heart of a seeker. I don’t know everything and I can’t get to Your promises for my life without You directing me and instructing my heart. Help me to get this message in my heart and cause Your truth to produce visible results in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.

When God is Silent

2019-01-13 08:58:55

“I have kept silent for a long time, I have kept still and restrained Myself. Now like a woman in labor I will groan, I will both gasp and pant.” Isaiah 42:14

When my children ask me for something, if I don’t say anything it’s because I’ve already answered them. Maybe they wanted a different response, so what they’ll do is continue asking me, hoping I will change and say something different. When I see that they’re not listening, I will stop talking altogether.

It is the same in our relationship with God. Maybe you’ve been asking God for His will regarding a matter. When God is silent it is because He’s already told you what He wants you to do. You can’t hear His voice because you are waiting for Him to approve your will, when He has already expressed His own.

When God is silent, ask yourself:

1. What has He already told me to do that I have not done?

2. Am I waiting for Him to change and say something different?

3. Am I listening with the intent to obey Him?

As you examine your heart and ask yourself these questions, the Holy Spirit will begin to minister to your heart and help you hear and obey what He’s telling you to do.

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for giving me understanding today. I know you haven’t left me. You’re always with me. Help me Lord to do what you told me to do and not try to change what you have spoken. I know you love me and you have my best in mind. Anything you’ve told me to do that I haven’t done, please forgive me. Give me a listening ear and a submissive heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Until the Clouds Pass

2019-01-12 08:18:03

“The LORD has remembered us; he will bless us…” Psalms 115:12, ESV

Sometimes I can’t see the sun because clouds are blocking my view. The clouds cause me to not feel the sun’s warmth against my face or see it’s light. So I close my eyes and remember how the sun felt until the clouds pass.

We all experience times in our lives when we know God loves us, but we don’t feel His love, we don’t feel His warmth, or His face shining upon us. Because of the storms of life, we feel as though we’ve fallen out of favor with God.

Just like the sun He spoke into being, God’s light is constant because He is light and the degree of His affection for you remains intense and off the charts whether you can feel it or not. As His daughter, you have favor with Him through Jesus always. Clouds may be blocking your view, but that is when you have to trust in what you know verses how you feel.

Never allow a temporary situation to cause you to question God’s eternal love for you. You will experience Him smiling upon you and you will walk in His favor again. Close your eyes and remember His warmth and goodness until the clouds pass.

Prayer: Glory to Your name Father God. I love You. Thank You for the much needed encouragement to my heart. I know You love me and I trust You will see me through every storm and trial. I remember when You saved my life. I think about when You came through for me and my family time and time again. I think back to how You blessed me even after I messed up. Thank You for Your goodness and Your grace. Help me to hold on to these memories until the storms of life passes by. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Message from the LORD for You

2019-01-11 07:27:04

“My times are in Your hands…” Psalm 31:15, Berean Study Bible.

“Your times and seasons are in My hand. Your times and seasons change according to My plan. I know where you are and I know where I’m taking you. Every season is important. In every season you are learning more and more about Me and who you are in Me. Don’t rush through the seasons of your life. In the Winter, draw near to Me and receive My warmth. In the Spring, watch how I make everything new for you. In the Summer, the heat will not scorch you. I will protect you. You will not thirst if you drink from My well that never runs dry. In the Fall, things are shaken and fall away, but you will not be moved. You have received a kingdom that can never be shaken or moved. As long as you are in Me, you will be immovable like a tree. You have been planted on a firm foundation in Me and though seasons change in your life, I never change and nor will you. No matter the changing seasons, your faith in Me shall remain. Your spirit shall remain. Your hope in Me shall remain unchanging. Says the Spirit of the Lord.”

(Scripture References Psalms 1:1-3; Ecclesiastes 3:1; Hebrews 12:28)
