Turn Up the Volume

Posted on Posted in devotions

If someone was to ride with you in the car, they may find that like so many of us, you love to listen to music—loud.  We turn the volume way up and sing like professionals (in our minds).  We be jammin’ and could care less who is watching.  And don’t let someone that is riding with us turn the volume down.  That’s a capital offense that is punishable by death!  What would happen if we learn to turn up God’s voice and His word in our lives as we do our favorite song on the radio? What would happen if we let His voice speak louder to us than our fears and doubts? When thoughts are bombarding your mind and telling you what God isn’t going to do and announcing to you loudly how bad the situation looks, that’s when you turn up the volume of God’s word in your life. His word has the power to bring life, peace, and rest instantly! When God’s promises are spoken out of our mouths, it can bring peace in the midst of any storm and can cause the enemy to run. There’s power in the Word of God! Turn it up in your mind and in your life!

“God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.” Hebrews 4:12  (MSG)

Father God, Your Word is alive and powerful! I turn it up in my life and I know it will cause all fear and doubt to leave. Nothing can stand up against what You have  to say about a matter. So I turn Your voice up in my life and I receive the peace, joy and victory You give. In Jesus’ name, Amen
