Under New Management

So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him. But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God]. Romans 8:8-9 (Amplified)

Have you ever done something that you really regret? If so, you are not alone. Every day millions of people are responding to situations out of anger and frustration, never giving thought to how their actions are affecting others. If you have ruined your marriage, your relationships, and your life through emotional responses, it’s time to place your life under new management! It’s time to declare, “I’m sorry I hurt you! I have chosen to surrender my life to the management and governance of the Spirit of God!  So many people are sad and lonely, because they are controlled by their emotions. Only by the Spirit can you begin to bring your body and every emotion under control. We are to be controlled by the Spirit of God, led by the Spirit of God, and governed by the Spirit of God.  A restaurant under new management can do nothing to make old customers return. All it can do is treat the new customers right. So it is with you. You can’t force old relationships back into your life. All you can do is learn to love those who are still there. Overtime, the word will get out that something wonderful has changed in you!

Prayer: Father, change me from the inside out. Forgive me for every person I have mistreated. I surrender my emotions, and my will to Your Holy Spirit and I ask You to teach me how to be controlled and governed by You in every situation I face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A sincere thank you to our Devotional Writers.
