What makes you laugh? What makes you cry? What do you enjoy doing after a long day? What do you love to watch on television? What do you love to eat? Where do you love to go with your friends? Ask a woman any of these questions and more than likely she will be able to quickly respond. Not only that, but if you were to hang out with her for a day, you will see for yourself the things she enjoys most. But what if you asked her, “what do you believe?” This is a very different question. It is a question that many can not answer quickly. We could say we believe in God and that He lives in us. We could say He loves us deeply. We could even get teary-eyed and declare that God is our everything, our all and all, and that He has our back. However, no matter how sincere we are in our response, what we truly believe is exemplified by our life and our actions. We must be diligent in making sure that what we believe lines up with what we say, with what we do, and with how we live.
“We’re not keeping this quiet, not on your life. Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe. And what we believe is that the One who raised up the Master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive. Every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, more and more praise!” 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 (MSG)
I know You know that I believe in You. I believe You love me and that You have given me everything I need to be successful in every area of my life. I believe that. Now Lord empower me to live that. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
