What’s In You?

Posted on Posted in devotions

While at a restaurant, I looked around seeking to be a blessing to someone and pay for their meal.  I was determined to show kindness to someone that day.  Because I knew I had money in the bank, I was confident that I could bless whoever I wanted to.  I was excited because of what I knew I had in the bank.  That’s the same thing when you know who lives in you spiritually.  When you know that God lives in you, you walk around excited because you know you have the power to change someone’s spiritual status.  In one moment they can go from being spiritually destitute, to being happy and fulfilled in God.  When you know He lives in you,  you seek to make rich deposits into the heart and mind of people that can change their lives forever.  Great revivals and movements in history were sparked by one man or woman who were convinced that God lived in them, was with them and was for them. They knew they had something to contribute, a voice that must be heard, a gift to share, a life to lay down, and a love to give.  Although they suffered trouble, persecution, and many times death, they were willing to do so because of what they knew was in them. If you know the Lord, you have a voice, an enriching gift, a love from God, and a holy fire that can completely revolutionize someone’s life and change the world.  Don’t hold back what’s in you.  Freely you’ve received, freely give.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves…” (2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV)

Prayer:  Father, you have enriched me through Jesus. You have had great influence on my heart and have blessed me abundantly with Your love, Your Spirit, and Your power.  You have given me a voice and You have given me something wonderful to contribute in this world that can change so many people’s lives.  Use me to make a difference in the world.  I believe You live in me, that You are with me, and You are for me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
