When your boat is rocking.

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17

As born-again believers, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Our faith in God’s word is all the proof we need that God is who He say He is and that He will do what He say He will do. Sometimes you may not feel healed, things may not look like it is getting any better, but God’s Word is your evidence that God is working on your behalf. God is at work even when it seems like He’s not. Oftentimes, He’s at work more when it seems like He is working least. You don’t need to see a sign that your faith is working. Remember, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. Without faith we can’t please God. Without faith in God’s word we will judge a situation based on what we see or don’t see and we can find ourselves frustrated and about to give up. After teaching to the multitudes, Jesus told His disciples, “Let us go to the other side.” They got in a boat preparing to do just that. Once on the waters, a terrible storm arose and rocked that boat so much so that the disciples feared for their lives. Where was Jesus in all of this? Knocked out asleep on a pillow at the lower part of the boat, drenched in water and snoring. How was it that He was able to rest during a storm? He knew He had already spoken and it would be just as He had said. Did the storm change God’s word? No, it proved it true. Every word that you will ever receive from the Lord will be tested. The moment you declare your health by the stripes of Jesus here comes a cold. When you declare God is your provider, you get laid off of your job. When you declare you are free from a life of sin, that very thing comes back to test you. If you endure under the trial and let your faith see you through to the other side, God promises that you will receive a crown of life. You will see His manifested glory, receive double for your trouble, a deepened faith and a renewed confidence in God’s love for you! Walk by faith and not by sight!

Prayer: Father, thank you for assuring my heart that my life in your hands. I believe your word and I choose to walk by faith and not by sight. I draw upon the life of Jesus within me the courage to believe despite what I see, hear or feel and I give you glory in advance for what you will manifest in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
