Where Has God Raised You From?

“With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33 NIV

In this passage, Peter and John were seized by the Sanhedrin and put in jail for teaching and proclaiming Jesus and the power of His resurrection. Unschooled and ordinary, with boldness and courage, they could not help but proclaim what they had seen and heard in their time spent with Jesus.

As I look back over the last 4 years of my life, I got to witness what His resurrection power can do in a life yielded to him. I was given a 3 week death sentence in 2010. I had Burkett’s Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and was told I needed a stem cell transplant to survive. Unable to collect cells from my body due to my health and chemo, they attempted to find a donor. That was unsuccessful because of my ethnicity, for there are very few donors of color. Three years passed and my doctor gets permission to use this new drug and makes another attempt to collect stem cells. This was his 8th attempt in 3 years, and I needed 5 million cells from a body that could barely walk. This time it was successful.

I share this today to say, we all like the disciples can attest to the resurrection power of Jesus. Where has God raised you from that you know only He could of done it? Is it financial ruin, an emotional breakdown, death or loss of a love one, a divorce, a sickness, or just not feeling loved or wanted? The enemy would love for you to hide where you come from or what you have gone through. Yes, we must be discerning to whom/when we share. Be discerning, but also be transparent, own it and let God use your story so someone else can have a story of His resurrection power in their lives. It is the Holy Spirit’s power that enables us to be witnesses for Christ, both in word and action. The name and claim it in Jesus is that it is in the name of Jesus that I can claim that He did it and not I, myself.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the sacrifice of the death of your Son. Daily remind us that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in us to get through the day and be and do all that you have called us to. Give us the grace and courage to testify to who you are in our lives and the resurrection power that is in us to overcome anything. In Jesus Name.
