“He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” John 8:10b-11 (KJV
When the sins of our yesterday have brought regret and consequences to our today, the question remains; Where do we go from here? How do we accept our yesterday and press on towards the hope of our today? When Jesus asked the woman caught in adultery “where are your accusers?” All had stepped away until it was just she and the Lord left standing. Like the woman, you may have been caught. Also like the woman, no one’s accusation can stand against you before the living God. This woman had the right idea. She was still standing there because she did not accuse herself. She received the pardoning authority of his words. Jesus loved her enough not to leave her where she was. He loved her enough to tell her how to live her today. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” Destiny is beckoning for each one of us. In order to see how God can use us in spite of our yesterday, we like the woman should not only receive the pardoning authority of His Word, but we must also receive the correction and direction of His word for our today. Jesus is the only One who can transform a life of bad choices and cause you to have life and life to the full.
Prayer: Spirit of the Living God through your Son’s shed blood I must come. Father I thank you that you are all things to all men. Lord God, today I desire to know you as Healer. I ask you Lord to help me to receive your healing power over those fractured places within my mind and emotions. I thank you God that my yesterday will be used as a testimony when helping another to receive freedom for her today. In Jesus Name, Amen.
