Recall the year 2009, when throngs of people from various walks of life chanted President Barack Obama’s political catchphrase, “Yes We Can!” As tears streamed and many hearts filled with the hope of what could be if they work collectively to do something once thought impossible, a shift took place in America. Now, imagine what our lives would be if we took this same approach when God tells us we can do the impossible. When God promises that with Him, we can do things we never thought we could do, will we excitedly exclaim, “Yes We Can,” or will we plead with God as Moses once did, to find another way? God specializes in using the least of us to do extraordinary things. It is how God gets the most glory and how others recognize the greater power working within us. Moses, a man challenged in speech was chosen by God to be the spokesman and leader for the Hebrew people. The Apostle Paul once murdered many followers of Jesus and was viewed as a man that facilitated hate, yet was chosen by God to spread the Gospel and write some of the most profound scriptures pertaining to God’s love. Your weaknesses cannot hinder God’s greatness. In fact, it magnifies it! Whatever God has called us to do; He is with us every step of the way to fulfill it. All we need to do is tell the Lord, “Yes We Can!”
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
I thank you for the plans you have for my life. Help me to not lean on my own abilities to fulfill it, but to put my trust in you and seek your leading as I make myself available to be used by you. You are the source of my strength and everything I do is for you. I humble myself before you Jesus and ask that you keep my mind and heart on you. May you be glorified and seen whenever people look at my life. Thank you for your anointing and protection as I serve you.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
