You Are A Preacher

Posted on Posted in devotions

In 2011, the world’s population reached seven billion!  That’s a lot of people living on the planet earth.  Out of that vast number, many of them have never heard of Jesus and are unaware of what He did for them.  So do we say to ourselves, “That’s a lot of people!  I guess that means I need to spend extra time in prayer for missionaries and preachers.”  Well, if you know the Lord, you are a preacher!  The Bible calls you a minister of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18).  It is all of our job and responsibility to reconcile a lost and dying world to God.  We are not to sit idle waiting for the pastors and evangelists to do all the work.  We must bring our supply to this global effort.  You might ask, how do you do that if you have never preached or been to seminary?  Well, what do you do when you have good news?  Do you wait to get a certificate before you share with others that God saved you, delivered you and restored you?  Do you need a license to share your testimony with others?  No, you don’t.  Contrary to popular belief, you are appointed, ordained, and anointed by God to spread His message throughout the earth, on your job, at the family reunion, and at the supermarket.  Share it wherever you go!  When you say “yes” to God regarding evangelism, He will begin to enlarge your heart for people and will give you a heart for the lost.  You’ll find yourself weeping over lost people, when you used to be offended and angry with their sin.  When God gives you a heart for the lost, you see them the way God sees them.  You’re not so quick to judge, but rather to love.  So preach preacher and advance the Kingdom of God with your life and with your testimony!

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”” (Romans 10:14-15 NLT)

Prayer:  Father, I receive the fact that I am appointed and anointed by You to proclaim Your Good News.  You have supernaturally transformed by life through Jesus and I can’t sit down and pretend like that’s a small matter.  It’s not!  You have changed my life!  Now I choose to demonstrate my gratitude by actively helping to change the world for Your glory.  Help me to maintain this global view.  I pray you confirm Your Word with signs and wonders following.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A sincere thank you to our Daughters of the King Daily Devotional Writers.
