You Are His Sheep

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:27-28
What a loaded Scripture, full of promise and comfort. It is a blessing when you know you are God’s sheep and that your relationship with Him is real. When you have a real relationship with the Lord, you recognize His voice when He is talking to you, you trust that He knows you, and you follow Him even when you don’t understand. Everything else in your life may feel inconsistent, unreliable, undependable and so unsure, but one thing you can trust in is that you know the Lord and you are His sheep. He promises that no one will be able to pluck you out of His hands. That means no matter how hard someone tries to discourage you, or try to negatively influence you, or derail you off course, no one will be able to pluck you out of God’s hands.  Be thankful that you are the Lord’s sheep. The Lord is your Shepherd, you shall not want or lack for anything. He will make you to lie down in green pastures. He will lead you beside still waters. He will restore your soul. He will lead you in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yes, you may be in the valley of the shadow of death right now, but don’t you fear no evil. God is with you. He is with you! And His rod and His staff will comfort you. He will prepare a table before you right in the presence of your enemies. Right in front of everyone who said you would never amount to anything. He will anoint your head with oil. Your cup will overflow. Surely His goodness and mercy will follow everyday of your life and you will live in His house forever!
Prayer: Oh my God, You are my God. Thank You that I am Your sheep and You are my Shepherd.  I love You and choose to follow You.  Thank You for encouraging and comforting me. I receive Your words deep in my heart. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
